Student Nurse
The Student Nurse works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Student Nurse include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Student Nurse must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Education:
High School/GED required. Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Completed a minimum of one year of clinical experience within an academic nursing program, and completed the following educational courses and clinical experience:
Fundamentals of Nursing and Pharmacology including medication administration. - Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Associated Degree, Diploma or Baccalaureate Professional Nursing Program. Nursing Graduates pending passage of the NCLEX are also eligible.
License, Certification and/or Registration: BLS required before the conclusion of the orientation period.
