Supplier Quality Engineer
Boeing Defense, Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Huntsville, AL.
Position ResponsibilitiesExperienced Level 3
- Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation
- Provides Quality interpretation of requirements
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities. Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs
- Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness
- Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved
- Apply advanced Supplier Quality prevention tools including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Lean and Six Sigma
- Lead cross-functional Requirements Reviews and Capability Assessments at BDS suppliers
- Assist with the evaluation of new technology and manufacturing process deployment readiness form special capability approvals to ensure technical readiness, capability and supplier process controls are established
- Works under general direction
Senior Level 4
- Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
- Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Develops and implements corrective actions.
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.

- Works under minimal direction.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years RCCA experience
- 3+ years of experience in the defense or aerospace industry
- 3+ years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
- Experience presenting technical briefings to various audiences
- Experience working with AS9100 and/or similar QMS standard
- Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) Certifications
- 3+ years of experience working closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance or supplier quality related roles
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
