Quality Assurance Specialist - Electrical will support the Safety and Mission Assurance Services II (SMAS II) contract located at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform QAS Functions specific to Electrical Inspection in accordance with the requirements outlined below.
  • Maintain current company and customer training and certifications to maintain a quality inspection stamp and meet stamp warranty expectations.
  • Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer approved quality assurance plans/policies and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspection, and final end item inspections.
  • Possess working knowledge of AS9100/ISO
    9001 Quality System requirements or equivalent industry standard, and ability to read complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
  • Have previous experience working with flight critical hardware systems in an ESD/FOD sensitive environments, witnessing critical assembly operations and testing of electrical cables and components and other complex assemblies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED
  • This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.
  • Must have a High School or equivalent.
  • Must have 5+ years of recent and related work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
  • Ability to initiate non-conformance reports, document and report inspection results, and monitor corrective actions for effectiveness.
  • Maintain current company and customer training certifications required to uphold quality inspection stamp authorization and warranty expectations.
  • Work with company and customer representatives to resolve inspection questions and communicate technical issues to project engineers to ensure compliance with final product specification requirements.
  • Knowledge of higher-level quality assurance system requirement documents, with ability to interpret and apply QA system-level requirements while performing quality assurance duties.
  • Execute quality requirements in accordance with customer-approved quality assurance plans, policies, and specifications during all phases of hardware fabrication, testing, first article inspections, and final end-item inspections.
DESIRED
  • Experience working with flight-critical hardware systems in ESD/FOD-sensitive environments.
  • Experience witnessing critical assembly operations and testing electrical cables, components, and other complex assemblies.
  • Experience with cable harness mate and de-mate operations.
  • Experience performing cable harness testing, including Continuity, DWV, and IR testing.
  • Certification in accordance with NASA-STD-8739.4 preferred.
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Space Addendum certification preferred.
  • Certification in accordance with J-STD-001 with Space Addendum preferred.
  • Certification in accordance with NASA-STD-8739.1 preferred.
  • Training and certification in Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control preferred.
WORK LOCATION
  • This position is located onsite; some travel may be required.
  • Schedules are subject to change based on the requirements of the position and/or customer needs.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED

DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED

All Bastion employees must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and are required to participate in periodic random drug and alcohol screenings.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and TEAMS.

  • Organized with good time management skills and ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
  • General office environment, but may involve inside or outside work depending on the task.
  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
  • Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.
