Overview
Facility Security Officer (FSO) (Project Management) - The Facility Security Officer (FSO) is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the security program for our headquarters facility. This role ensures compliance with all federal security regulations and provides expert oversight of personnel security, physical security, document control, secure communications, and classified information systems. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of DoD and Intelligence Community security requirements and demonstrates leadership in managing security functions across a dynamic, fast-paced organization.
Responsibilities- Manage and administer the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) in accordance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM).
- Serve as the primary liaison with DCSA, government customers, and internal leadership on all security matters.
- Oversee personnel security (PERSEC), including clearance processing, tracking, briefings, and debriefings.
- Maintain DISS, NISS, NBIS, and related government systems.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Standard Practice Procedures (SPP), Emergency Action Plans, and Access Control Policies.
- Conduct self-inspections, security audits, and annual refresher training.
- Guide and assist branch sites in managing their security programs.
- Manage physical security, including alarm systems, badges, visitor control, and access authorization.
- Ensure compliance with classified meetings, classified storage, and secure communications.
- Support CPSO/ISSO/AFSO functions where needed.
- Coordinate incident reporting and security investigations in accordance with government requirements.
- Lead security awareness programs and provide ongoing training to employees.
- Active Secret clearance (Top Secret required/SCI eligible).
- Minimum 5 years of industrial security experience, ideally in a government contracting environment.
- Completion of the DCSA FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities Course or ability to complete upon hire.
- Proficiency with DISS, NISS, NBIS, and associated DoD security systems.
- Strong knowledge of NISPOM, insider threat requirements, and DoD/IC security directives.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Experience in CPSO, CSSO, ISSO, or other security-related roles supporting classified programs.
