Job Responsibilities- Protect the principal against possible threats.
- Federal building access control, employee and visitor identification checks, security equipment monitoring, roving patrols of the interior and exterior of federal property.
- Monitor surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents that may have occurred.
- Use magnetometer and X‑ray machines effectively.
- Communicate via two‑way radios in a clear and concise manner.
- Leverage excellent listening and service skills in emergency response and evaluation procedures.
- Perform CPR or first aid when needed.
- Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
- Maintain performance of assigned duties with physical ability, frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day, either indoors or outdoors.
- Interact with the general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center, requiring an ability to speak clearly, distinctly, and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Remain on post up to four consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break.
- Remain alert for up to 12 hours, reacting quickly to a variety of unexpected and dangerous situations.
- Subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals, or intervene in a crisis.
- Occasionally run, sprint, lift heavy weights, move heavy objects, and climb stairs.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to obtain suitability and/or clearance.
- United States citizen, or a lawful permanent resident who is a current or former member of, or has an honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces.
- Possession of a Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration.
- Minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience or one (1) year of full‑duty law enforcement experience with a full‑service police department in a municipality, state, or federal law enforcement department within the U.S.
- Minimum of two (2) years as a member of any U.S. Armed Forces with an honorable discharge.
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, comprehending, and writing).
- Qualified to use a revolver or semi‑automatic firearm.
- Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service‑driven mindset.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers.
- Physically able to perform tasks in the performance of assigned duties.
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to 12 hours per day.
- Frequent contact with general public, law enforcement, and dispatch center.
- Remain on post up to four consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break.
- Remain alert for up to 12 hours and react quickly to unexpected and dangerous situations.
- Subdue violent or potentially violent or disturbed individuals or intervene in a crisis.
- Occasional running, sprinting, lifting heavy weights, moving heavy objects, and climbing stairs.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CPR/American Red Cross Certification.
- All Required PSO Training and Certifications.
