The Person nel Security Specialist reviews investigation request documentation for accuracy and completeness, processes e‑QIP packets for federal and contractor employees, initiates background investigations, and manages data entry and case filing to be forwarded to OPM.

• Ensure security of program data and materials.
• Develop manuals, forms, and instructions for the FBI Security Program; participate in implementation of new or revised programs.
• Conduct exhaustive checks according to FIS, federal guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze FBI investigative files to identify relevant data and potential security concerns.
• Provide guidance and training to lower‑grade specialists.
• Review cases and correspondence for transmittal authorization.
• Support the FBI Security Program by advising on policy and procedure implementation.
• Prepare summaries and correspondence for investigation initiation.
• Coordinate with FBI divisions on foreign nexus concerns.
• Perform high‑risk analysis for security and suitability determinations.
• Evaluate investigation reports and personnel files for suitability determinations.

• Bachelor’s Degree and 7 years of experience in personnel security investigation or investigative analysis, or Associate of Science degree and 9 years of experience.
• Required technical training or certification as an investigator or adjudicator.
• Experience conducting and interpreting database checks and credit reports.
• Experience performing routine office administrative support functions.
• Analytical ability to identify security vulnerabilities and investigative leads.
• Position requires a Top Secret security clearance.

• Minimum five years of experience directly related to analysis of investigations and record checks.
• Experience conducting record checks utilizing IC and third‑party information.
• Experience supervising senior investigators in national or international scope investigations.
• Experience with TS/Secret investigations in counterintelligence, counter terrorism, criminal matters, and personnel security.
• Knowledge of criminal and civil law and enforcement operations; on‑the‑job training for federal investigative analyst consultant duties.

• Advanced degree in any field.
• Detailed knowledge of the FBI Security Program and its procedures.
• Extensive knowledge of processes for conducting sensitive security investigations.
• Skill in correlating and evaluating data for documentation to DOJ, IC, and other agencies.
• Understanding of personnel security analysis interrelationships across FBI, DOJ, IC, and other agencies.
• Ability to ensure compliance with FBI procedures and timely completion of work.
• Experience establishing relationships with government agencies and FBI personnel.
