Schedule/

Hours:

25 - 29 hours per week, overnight shifts and week-ends shifts

• Monitors the activities of the shelter residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules
• Monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility
• Records unique situations occurring on assigned shift
• Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective action in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Wakes up clients at designated time and ensures that all residents are out of shelter at designated time

• Ability to meet attendance requirements
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to respond to emergency situations calmly and quickly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action
• Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis
• Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time
• Work requires performance of duties in a social services environment where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases is possible

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• One year experience performing security work or working in a social service environment
• Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
