Summary

Join Chenega Global Protection and play a critical role in protecting one of the Army's premier installations. The Security Shift Supervisor serves as a working shift leader responsible for overseeing access control operations, leading a team of security professionals, and ensuring the safety and security of personnel, facilities, and government assets at Redstone Arsenal. This position combines leadership, security operations, and customer service while supporting a high-visibility mission in partnership with Department of the Army Security Guard (DASG) personnel.

Responsibilities
  • Required to follow all company personnel and safety policies and perform all assigned duties in a safe and professional
  • Supervise Contract Security Guards assigned to access control operations at Redstone Arsenal Installation Access Control
  • Manage and direct shift operations while ensuring compliance with Army regulations, installation policies, post orders, and standard operating
  • Communicate and coordinate daily security operations with DASG leadership and designated Government
  • Conduct guard mount activities, personnel inspections, post checks, and quality control reviews of assigned security
  • Ensure proper screening of personnel, vehicles, packages, and materials entering the
  • Monitor the use of Automated Installation Entry (AIE), facial recognition, RFID, and other access control systems to ensure proper installation access procedures are
  • Respond to incidents, emergency situations, gate runner events, vehicle inspections, and security violations in accordance with established
  • Ensure emergency notifications are made to appropriate agencies and that required reports are completed accurately and submitted in a timely
  • Provide guidance, training, mentoring, and operational support to security personnel to ensure mission readiness and contract
  • Maintain accountability of assigned personnel, equipment, uniforms, and duty
  • Ensure professional customer service is provided to military personnel, government employees, contractors, and

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or lawful U.S. resident authorized to work in the United States.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a direct supervisor of armed or unarmed security guards or police personnel, including scheduling, training, and personnel
  • Active Alabama unarmed guard license required
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's
  • Must successfully pass all required background investigations, installation access requirements, and medical screening
  • Must successfully complete all required contract, Army, and installation-specific training
  • Must successfully pass and maintain the required Physical Agility Test consisting of 19 pushups in two minutes and a 5-mile run in 17 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Redstone Arsenal installation access
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, day shifts, swing shifts, and extended hours as mission requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform security duties and complete reports.
  • Knowledge of access control procedures, force protection, and physical security operations.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and supervise security personnel in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and respond effectively during emergencies and critical incidents.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and maintain reports and operational documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective relationships with government and contractor personnel.
  • Proficiency with computers, access control systems, radios, and related security equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage personnel, and maintain operational effectiveness under pressure.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, and maintain situational awareness. The employee may be required to run, climb, kneel, bend, crawl, lift, carry, push, or pull while performing security duties. The employee must be able to wear required duty gear and personal protective equipment and work in a variety of environmental conditions..

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed at access control points, gate facilities, and other designated locations throughout Redstone Arsenal. The employee will regularly work outdoors and may be exposed to varying weather conditions, vehicle traffic, elevated noise levels, and emergency situations.
