Shift Captain
Join Chenega as a Shift Captain and lead critical security operations in support of NASA. This is an opportunity for an experienced security or law enforcement professional to supervise armed personnel, respond to emergencies, and help maintain the safety and security of a high-profile federal facility while making a meaningful impact every day.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise security personnel during assigned shifts, providing guidance, direction, and operational oversight to ensure effective site security.
- Coordinate emergency response activities, manage critical incidents, and communicate significant events to site leadership in a timely manner.
- Ensure full shift coverage, monitor officer performance, conduct inspections, and maintain compliance with site procedures and post orders.
- Oversee the proper use of security equipment, review reports and log entries for accuracy, and support a safe, professional work environment.
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, at least 21 years of age, and possession of a valid driver's license.
- Graduate of an accredited law enforcement, military police, physical security, or recognized law enforcement training academy, or previously commissioned by an accredited law enforcement agency.
- Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in physical security, law enforcement, military, or related fields, including supervisory experience and operational decision-making responsibilities.
- Ability to obtain and maintain all required licenses, certifications, clearances, and NASA fitness standards, including a DoD security clearance, weapons qualification, NIMS requirements, and drug-free workplace compliance.
- Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising armed security or law enforcement personnel in a federal, military, aerospace, or critical infrastructure environment.
- Strong background in incident command, emergency response, and security operations management.
- Prior experience making personnel and operational decisions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Honorably discharged military service (when applicable).
- Demonstrated expertise in security administration, inspections, reporting, and workforce management.
