Description

Leidos Security Operations is seeking an accomplished and experienced security leader to serve as Business Area Security Manager, Industrial Security, supporting the Kinetic Effects Business Area and its Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) customers.

This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight for a geographically dispersed team of security professionals and a portfolio of complex classified programs and facilities. The successful candidate will oversee security operations supporting classified manufacturing, collateral, Special Access Program (SAP), and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments across multiple locations.

The Business Area Security Manager will partner closely with business, program, operations, manufacturing, and government stakeholders to ensure security requirements are effectively integrated into program execution while maintaining compliance with applicable federal regulations, contractual requirements, and Leidos policies.
This role requires a collaborative, decisive leader who can apply sound risk management principles, develop security professionals, navigate complex security requirements, and enable successful execution of high-value classified programs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a geographically dispersed team of industrial security professionals supporting multiple cleared facilities and classified programs.

• Provide security oversight for multiple contracts and ensure effective implementation of industrial security requirements in accordance with company, contractual, and government requirements.

• Develop, mentor, and provide performance leadership to CPSOs, CSSOs, FSOs, and other security professionals, including establishing goals, providing performance feedback, and supporting workforce development.

• Serve as a trusted security advisor to program, site, business area, and executive leadership.

• Interface with Leidos personnel, government customers, and security officials to ensure compliance with 32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM), contract security requirements, classification guidance, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), and customer-specific policies.

• Exercise sound judgment and risk-based decision-making on complex security matters affecting high-value classified contracts, facilities, personnel, and information.

• Identify security risks and develop practical mitigation strategies that protect classified information and assets while enabling business and mission objectives.

• Provide clear guidance to employees and leadership and recommend changes to security policies, procedures, and operations when appropriate.

• Oversee personnel security activities, clearance processing, program reviews, document control, security audits, and maintenance of personnel and program security records.

• Provide direction and oversight for security violations and infractions, investigations, reporting, classified material accountability, visit certifications, receipt and dispatch activities, destruction records, and related security processes.

• Provide technical leadership across multiple security disciplines, including personnel security, physical and industrial security, investigations, and security operations.

• Develop, review, and disseminate security requirements, procedures, guidance, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

• Establish standards and provide oversight for security briefings, indoctrinations, debriefings, refresher training, and pre- and post-foreign travel briefings.

• Guide security personnel in developing and delivering mission-specific security awareness and Counterintelligence (CI) training.

• Collaborate with DoD, IC, DCSA, and other government security organizations to maintain awareness of evolving security requirements, expectations, and best practices.

• Ensure security personnel effectively maintain personnel and program records and appropriately interpret requirements governing the processing, dissemination, safeguarding, and control of classified information and material.
