Underground Specialist

Velox is now hiring for an Underground Specialist in the North Alabama market! The current primary work location ranges from Huntsville to Birmingham. Overnight travel is minimal, but may be required on occasion.

• Unload materials that are delivered and distribute them to appropriate locations as identified by a supervisor, project plans, or specifications.
• Prepare the layout area where construction will occur by accurately measuring, marking, or recording openings or distances.
• Clean and prepare specific areas of the job site as assigned. This may include digging trenches, erecting scaffolding, cleaning up rubble, debris, and trash; or removing hazardous materials.
• Operate a wide variety of hand and power tools.
• Direct traffic near, in, or around work zones.
• Move equipment to assist with alignment, movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
• Clean the job site at the end of the day, ensuring trash is properly disposed of, and materials or equipment are safely stored.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Listen to, understand, and follow directions
• Flexibility as specific assignments change
• Basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours per day
