This role supports the fielding, operation, and sustainment of complex military equipment, including EO/IR and radar sensor systems, at customer and field locations. It is a hands‑on position focused on keeping equipment mission ready through operational support, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair, with the autonomy to work independently in the field with limited oversight. The representative serves as the customer's day‑to‑day technical contact and feeds observed performance and failure trends back to engineering.
Responsibilities- Deploy to customer and field sites to install, operate, maintain, and sustain complex military equipment, keeping it mission ready.
- Operate, align, calibrate, and troubleshoot EO/IR and radar sensors and their supporting processing, power, and network hardware.
- Perform system checkout and preventive maintenance ahead of operations and test events.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in the field, escalating complex problems to engineering as needed.
- Perform hardware repairs and replacements, load software and firmware, and verify system configuration and network connectivity.
- Support customer training on system operation and basic maintenance.
- Collect system and sensor performance data and report anomalies and failure trends back to engineering.
- Manage on-site spares, tools, and test equipment and coordinate resupply.
- Maintain field service logs, maintenance records, and status reports.

- Technical or vocational college degree in electronics, systems maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent military technical training.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex military equipment in operational environments.
- Exposure to EO/IR and radar sensor systems, including their operation, alignment, and troubleshooting as part of an integrated system.
- Working knowledge of basic electronics, hardware troubleshooting, and system‑level maintenance.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing, cabling, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
- Comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision, including making sound calls in the field without direct engineering support on hand.
- Strong customer‑facing communication skills.
- Travel of approximately 50% is expected, including extended field deployments.
- Ability to work extended hours and irregular shifts during deployments, mission operations, and test events.
- Prior military service with a technical or maintenance MOS, such as flight line, avionics, or mission‑system maintenance, is preferred.
- Prior experience as a Field Service Representative or in a similar field support role is preferred.
- U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret security clearance and the ability to maintain the designated clearance level.
Employees in these positions will function primarily at customer sites, field locations, and test ranges, with periodic work in office and laboratory settings.
