Maintenance Technician
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of industrial equipment in a complex, multi-building plant environment. You will perform both electrical and mechanical work, including troubleshooting 480V systems and 3-phase motors, reading blueprints and schematics, and supporting both older and modern automated equipment. The position requires a well-rounded maintenance technician who can work independently and as part of a team to keep production equipment safe, reliable, and running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair plant equipment across multiple buildings and production areas.
- Perform electrical troubleshooting on 480V systems, 3-phase motors, and other electrical components.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, chillers, boilers, conveyors, CNC machines, and air handling units.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to plan and execute maintenance tasks.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Perform corrective maintenance in response to equipment failures and production issues.
- Carry out reliability testing and inspections to identify potential problems and improve equipment performance.
- Work with and support Fanuc robots and other automation systems as part of daily maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot PLCs and automation controls to resolve equipment and process issues.
- Collaborate with other maintenance technicians and production staff while also completing tasks independently as needed.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and findings to support ongoing reliability and continuous improvement.
- Follow safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical, mechanical, and automated systems in a dusty, industrial environment.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a multicraft or multi-skilled maintenance technician in an industrial or plant setting.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including work with 480V systems and 3-phase motors.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Experience with plant maintenance across a variety of equipment types, including conveyors, CNC machines, and air handling units.
- Capability to perform both preventative and corrective maintenance and support reliability testing.
- Comfort working with older equipment as well as newer automated systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with Fanuc robots and other industrial robots.
- Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with pumps, chillers, boilers, and related utility systems.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automation systems; PLC programming knowledge is a plus.
- Strong general electrical and mechanical aptitude across multiple disciplines.
- Previous experience in a dusty, heavy industrial environment is beneficial.
- Comfort working in a large, multi-building campus-style plant.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, AL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
