Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal
Software Engineer. This position can be located in Colorado Springs, CO, Huntsville, AL or Roy, Utah and will support Strategic Deterrence Systems (SDS).

This role can be filled at the Principal Software Engineer (T03) or Sr. Principal Software Engineer (T04) level.

Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor of degree in a discipline from an ABET accredited university; 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 3 years with a Master’s; or 1 years with PhD or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree

• Demonstrated understanding of Engineering processes and governance across the development lifecycle, including Software Development Life Cycle, Dev
  * Ops, software risk management, and software testing and validation.

• Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or similar.

• Experience writing technical processes, procedures and/or training materials.

• Familiarity with Mission Assurance/Quality compliance and auditing

• Familiarity developing or contributing to process training

• Familiarity with Agile methodology

Sr. Principal Software Engineer: Bachelor of degree in a discipline from an ABET accredited university; 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; 6 years with a Master’s; or 4 years with PhD

• Demonstrated understanding of Engineering processes and governance across the development lifecycle, including Software Development Life Cycle, Dev
  * Ops, software risk management, and software testing and validation.

• Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or similar.

• Experience writing technical processes, procedures and/or training materials.

• Familiarity with Mission Assurance/Quality compliance and auditing

• Familiarity developing or contributing to process training

• Familiarity with Agile methodology

• Advanced degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) field.

• Active Sentinel S//SAR or TS//SAR

• Experience with complex system development on large programs

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written

• Engineering process training development and support

• Knowledge of Nimbus model-based processes software

• Experience performing on an Agile development program; use of Atlassian tools

• Demonstrated ability working with cross-functional teams and customers.

• Experience with Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)

• Experience with Cybersecurity
