Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $ Annually
nou Systems, Inc. (nSI) is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support the U.S. Army Ronald Reagan Space and Missile Test Range (RTR). RTR operations depend on reliable, high-performance software to support mission planning, sensor integration, data flow, situational awareness, and post-mission analysis across a geographically distributed range architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications, services, and tools that support RTR mission operations and engineering activities.
- Support software integration across radar, optical, telemetry, communications, and data processing systems.
- Develop and enhance mission planning, data visualization, automation, monitoring, and analysis capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and mission stakeholders to translate operational needs into effective software solutions.
- Participate in software architecture, interface development, and system integration activities across distributed environments.
- Leverage AI-assisted coding and software development tools to improve development speed, code quality, maintainability, and engineering effectiveness.
- Support evaluation, prototyping, and potential development of AI-enabled applications to enhance mission planning, data exploitation, decision support, automation, and operational insight.
- Troubleshoot software issues, analyze system behavior, and implement improvements to reliability and performance.
- Support real-time mission execution and post-mission analysis through software engineering expertise.
- Contribute to modernization initiatives by evaluating new technologies, frameworks, development approaches, and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, test artifacts, and configuration-managed deliverables.
- Follow disciplined software development, cybersecurity, and quality assurance practices appropriate for mission systems.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, or C#.
- Experience developing, integrating, and sustaining software in complex operational or technical environments.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding or software development tools as part of an effective engineering workflow.
- Understanding of software architecture, APIs, data flows, testing, and configuration management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience with test range systems, missile defense, space operations, or mission software.
- Familiarity with real-time or near-real-time data processing and visualization environments.
- Experience with distributed systems, networked applications, or sensor integration.
- Knowledge of AI/ML application development, data pipelines, model integration, or human-in-the-loop decision support tools.
- Knowledge of Dev Sec Ops , containerization, cloud or hybrid environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to support both engineering development and mission-facing operational needs.
