Job Overview
Lockheed Martin Space in Huntsville, AL is seeking a full‑time Software Engineer Associate. The role supports the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) including requirements analysis, object‑oriented analysis & design, coding, unit testing, integration and formal test/delivery. The successful candidate will work on the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) Software within the Ground component as part of the THAAD Fire Control and Communications (TFCC) Engagement Operations Team.
Responsibilities include coordinating with other groups within Ground Systems, ensuring adherence to master plans and schedules, and executing tasks in a high‑tempo, collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
- Experience writing software in C, C++, Python, Ada, or Rust.
- Good understanding of software development practices and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and written & oral communication skills.
- Experience working on teams using Agile practices.
- Experience with Linux, Git, Jira, and Dev Ops.
- Knowledge of the THAAD Fire Control software and experience working with missile programs.
- Security+ certification (desired).
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Secret clearance.
The position requires a government security clearance (Secret). The role is located at a facility that requires special access.
