Software Engineer, Agile Developer
Cepeda is seeking an Entry‑Level Software Test Engineer to provide onsite support to the THAAD Trainers Team at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. This position plays a critical role in supporting the U.S. Army’s institutional training mission for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) weapon system. The role supports a multidisciplinary team of software, test, and systems engineers responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining complex training software.
Candidates must be adept at working in environments that require both self‑direction and close collaboration, contributing to high‑quality, actionable requirements and reliable system performance for mission‑critical THAAD Trainer solutions.
- Create, document, and execute manual test plans and test cases
- Support the team by identifying, documenting, and tracking defects
- Participate in test planning activities
- Collaborate with developers and testers in a fast‑paced, agile environment
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline
- Zero (0) or more years of relevant experience (Entry Level)
- Must possess the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
- Detail‑oriented and highly organized
- Ability to think critically and logically
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Thrives in fast‑paced, collaborative environments
- Coursework or projects related to software testing or quality assurance.
- Exposure to software development life cycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience with bug‑tracking or test management tools specifically Jira.
