International Space Station Ground Systems Controller

Job Summary

4M Research is seeking a Ground Systems Controller to work in a control room environment providing ground system support services for International Space Station (ISS) Ground Systems and other NASA programs. The role involves configuring, monitoring, and recovering critical ground system services required to support Marshall Operations Systems, Services, and Integration II (MOSSI II) contract, including telemetry receipt, routing and archival, voice/video distribution, and configuration management systems.

Operations are conducted 365x24x7 with all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Configure, monitor, and recover critical ground system services supporting MOSSI II contract.
  • Manage telemetry receipt, routing, archival, voice/video distribution, and configuration management systems.
  • Operate within a control room environment 24/7, working all shifts: 11 p.m.–7 a.m., 7 a.m.–3 p.m., 3 p.m.–11 p.m., including weekends and holidays.
  • Complete rigorous training and certification program; maintain certification to retain position.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience (4 years of relevant experience may substitute for degree). Bachelor’s degree in a STEM‑related field preferred.
  • US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance; applicant must meet eligibility for access to classified information.
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week across all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong teamwork and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix and Microsoft command line functions is a plus.
  • Experience in help desk call center, computer systems maintenance, plant operations, or similar preferred.
  • Interest in NASA and the space program.
