Software Test Engineer
Join our dynamic team and be a vital part of testing the International Space Station (ISS) Vehicle. As a candidate, you will participate in and conduct Test Open Records Review (TORRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) to ensure the highest standards of quality. Your responsibilities will include updating and auditing process documentation, developing test procedures, and executing tests during formal and informal testing.
You will also collaborate with a talented team, participate in peer reviews, and contribute to documentation of discrepancies and issues.
- Participate in and conduct Test Open Records Review (TORRs) and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) as required.
- Develop, code, test, debug, and maintain applications.
- Update and audit process documentation.
- Support testing of the International Space Station (ISS) Vehicle.
- Develop test procedures, execute tests during informal and formal testing, and develop/release test reports.
- Participate in and conduct peer reviews of release products, document discrepancies and problems.
- Perform all other assigned duties.
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a related field, plus ten (10) or more years of experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Direct software experience or equivalent relevant education and experience.
- Working knowledge of web languages (HTML, CSS, PHP, Java, JavaScript, etc.).
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- SharePoint development experience.
- Understanding of software testing and requirements verification. Experience with C/C++ or other scripting languages.
- Software test experience.
- Process orientation.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Applicant may be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Work may involve sitting for extended periods.
- May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lb.
- Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of test facilities where necessary.
- Generally an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
- Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.).
- Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical.
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
- Must put forward professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
- This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
