Software Integration Engineer – Engines Advanced

Blue Origin is building reusable, safe, and low‑cost space vehicles and systems, and the Engines Advanced unit focuses on the design, development, testing, and operation of advanced propulsion systems that power the next generation of Blue Origin's programs. As a Software Integration Engineer, you will deploy and integrate the "River" Electron‑based command and control (C2) application onto test stands and control hardware, brining up driver‑level PLCs and packaged control surfaces, validating data storage and real‑time send/receive, and troubleshooting in the loop.
Location& Relocation
- Location:
Kent, WA or Huntsville, AL - Relocation assistance provided.
- Travel approximately 30% to support software deployment, integration, and bring‑up across sites.
- Deploy, configure, and integrate River (Electron/Type Script/Node.js) onto test stands and control hardware.
- Bring up and validate driver‑level PLC and packaged control surface communications (Modbus and other industrial protocols).
- Verify data storage, manipulation, and real‑time send/receive workflows in the integrated environment.
- Build, package, and manage software releases and deployments to operational systems.
- Troubleshoot issues across the software/hardware boundary during integration and testing.
- Partner with software, controls, avionics, and test engineers to resolve anomalies and improve integration workflows.
- Develop and execute integration test procedures; capture results and lessons learned.
- B.S. in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related STEM field.
- 2+ years of relevant software, integration, or test experience.
- Working proficiency in Type Script/JavaScript, Node.js, or a comparable language.
- Experience integrating, deploying, or troubleshooting software on hardware in a test or operational environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
- Experience with Electron applications and build/release (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Hands‑on experience with PLCs and industrial protocols (Modbus, etc.) at the driver level.
- Familiarity with time‑series data, high‑rate data acquisition, or real‑time communication.
- Experience with command and control or hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) test environments.
- Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, or interface control documents.
- Ability to support off shifts as needed.
