Software Architecture Section Manager – Threat Systems Development Branch
Leidos Defense Sensors is a portfolio of systems, solutions and services for land, sea, air, space and cyberspace. The Threat Systems Development Branch specializes in foreign threat radar systems, RF software‑in‑the‑loop (SIL) and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL) simulators, and open‑air radar development.
Primary ResponsibilitiesAs Section Manager, you will manage personnel and coordinate the following technical projects:
- Develop C++ simulations of radar and missile systems in both software‑based and hardware‑in‑the‑loop configurations on Windows, Linux, and hard real‑time operating systems.
- Develop C# or web‑based custom graphical user‑interface tools to support simulation control and real‑time visualization of simulation results.
- Integrate simulations into customer software environments via software interface and plugin development.
- Create deployable professional software deliveries with supporting documentation, including version descriptions and test results.
- Develop continuous build and test toolsets to perform automated release candidate generation and verification.
- Collaborate with external customers to elicit requirements and define project goals.
- Master’s degree with 15–20 years of relevant experience or Doctorate with 13–16 years of relevant experience.
- Experience managing software processes.
- Experience working in a lab environment.
- Experience with customer/stakeholder interaction and technical meetings.
- Expert level C++ coding skills.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and programming.
- Proficiency with Linux operating systems and programming.
- Software Architecture Design experience.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Experience with detailed code review.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to maintain Secret clearance.
- Working knowledge of radar fundamentals or related technologies.
- Experience with C#, WPF, Visual Studio, Power Shell, MATLAB, Python, Atlassian (Bitbucket, JIRA), CMake.
- Certifications such as AWS, PMP or equivalent.
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the area.
