Basic Qualifications

  • An interim secret clearance or higher is required for consideration
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics or related technical field
  • Knowledge of at least one modern software language such as C++, C, C#, and/or Java (Preferably C++)
  • Software development experience in a Linux environment

The Work

Lockheed Martin is seeking a software engineer that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of software applications. Under minimal direction, this role provides specialized expertise within multiple systems and software disciplines, and general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new Java applications; maintain existing Java applications
  • Support software testing and resolve issues from multiple baselines
  • Perform in‑depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution
  • Work from system specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
  • Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs
  • Interface with other system support groups
  • Generate software design artifacts and support design and code reviews
Please Note
  • This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration.
  • The role will involve approximately 10% travel to customer sites throughout the U.S.

  • Experience using Maven/Gradle or other SW build tools
  • Experience using automated unit testing frameworks
