Position OverviewWe are looking for a full‑time AI/ML Engineer to develop and design Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning systems, create models, and conduct data science and analytics. The engineer will collaborate with systems engineers, architects, scrum masters, product owners, and end users to deliver AI/ML mission capabilities for Missile Defense and serve as an AI/ML resource for automation throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain AI/ML models and software solutions for missile defense missions.
- Conduct data science and analytics to inform decision making and improve system performance.
- Integrate AI/ML solutions into operational mission systems.
- Act as AI/ML resource for automation across the engineering lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems engineers, architects, scrum masters, product owners, and end users.
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or an equivalent STEM field.
- US citizenship required; position requires a government security clearance (Secret level).
- Demonstrated proficiency in developing algorithms and solving analytical problems using Python.
- Experience with Git Lab and various CI/CD pipeline strategies to streamline software delivery.
- Familiarity integrating AI/ML solutions into operational mission systems.
- Experience with MLOps.
- Experience applying AI/ML usage in engineering life cycles, including generative coding.
- Experience building or scaling developer communities, internal advocacy programs, or technical ambassador networks.
- Background in workforce planning, learning analytics, or training program measurement.
- Familiarity with enterprise AI platforms and tooling ecosystems (e.g., Astris AI Navigator, Genesis, or comparable).
- Prior defense, aerospace, or regulated enterprise experience.
- Self‑starter who takes initiative and drives tasks to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to drive alignment and influence without formal authority.
Position requires a government security clearance (Secret). US citizenship is mandatory.
Location and ScheduleOnsite full‑time at a Lockheed Martin facility.
Work schedule:
9×80 hours with every other Friday off.
