Overview
Principal Software Systems Quality Engineer (Compliance) – Huntsville, Alabama.
On‑site role requiring U.S. citizenship and an existing DoD Secret clearance that can be maintained after the first day. The Senior Engineer will support Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS) programs such as Global Patriot, Ghost‑Eye, and counter unmanned aerial systems, collaborating with software, systems, integration, test, and safety engineering teams.
- Review document deliverables, including CDRL, command media, software release packages (Windchill PDM, Azure Dev Ops), change requests, defect reports, and test artifacts.
- Participate in peer reviews, change control boards (CCB, SRB), and tracking books to capture quality metrics.
- Attend test witnessing sessions for Software Qualification Test (SQT) and Full‑Mission Test (FQT).
- Conduct audits of processes and deliverables, recommending corrective actions where necessary.
- Perform independent evaluations and risk assessments across the entire life cycle, facilitating root‑cause analysis.
- Leverage modern Agile and Dev Sec Ops practices while ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to senior leadership, peers, and cross‑disciplinary teams.
- Minimum Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a government‑issued security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
- Eight years of quality or engineering experience applying Agile, testing, requirements, software development, defect management, release, metrics, and analysis practices.
- Proficiency in Agile tools (SCRUM, JIRA), test planning, code reviewing, configuration management, and release management.
- Strong analytical skills and experience facilitating root‑cause analysis.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications in quality, software engineering, systems engineering, Agile, cyber/IA, or project management.
- Experience with Confluence, Azure Dev Ops Server, Jenkins, Git Hub, Coverity, Clear Case, DOORS, RQM, Cameo, Rhapsody.
- Knowledge of ISO
9001, AS9115, AS9100, and quality management systems. - Familiarity with security and compliance audit processes, patch management, and configuration control.
- Background in Dev Sec Ops , continuous integration/delivery pipelines, and network infrastructure management.
- Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500.
