Position Overview

We are seeking a Software Engineer to support the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced software solutions used in complex mission‑critical environments. This role offers the opportunity to work within cross‑functional engineering teams developing sophisticated applications that support command and control, communications, sensor integration, surveillance, and other advanced technology initiatives.

The ideal candidate is passionate about software development, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and thrives in a collaborative Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in multidisciplinary engineering teams responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of complex software systems.
  • Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, verification, and maintenance.
  • Develop and enhance real‑time, embedded, and application‑level software using modern programming practices.
  • Support system integration efforts and collaborate with systems engineering and test organizations to validate functionality and performance.
  • Analyze software requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, integration issues, and performance challenges.
  • Apply Agile development methodologies and participate in sprint planning, reviews, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the adoption of modern software engineering practices, including Dev Sec Ops , automation, and continuous integration.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to process improvements that enhance software quality and team efficiency.
  • Stay informed on emerging technologies, software tools, and industry best practices, including AI‑enabled development approaches.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or another STEM discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, software integration, or software test engineering.
  • Experience developing applications using object‑oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, Ada, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within collaborative engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience developing large‑scale, complex software systems or mission‑critical applications.
  • Experience working within Agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe, Scrum at Scale, Test‑Driven Development, and Dev Sec Ops .
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and automated testing practices.
  • Experience leading small technical teams, including task planning, effort estimation, and progress tracking.
  • Strong initiative and ability to independently identify, analyze, and resolve technical challenges.
  • Experience with multithreaded applications, memory optimization, and software performance tuning.
  • Experience using version control, configuration management, and software development tools such as Git, Clear Case, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Red Hat operating environments.
  • Experience with scripting languages and automation tools, including Bash, C Shell, or similar technologies.
  • Background in embedded systems, real‑time applications, or distributed software architectures.
  • Knowledge of open systems architectures and modular software design approaches.
  • Experience working within dynamic, fast‑paced environments with evolving priorities and technical requirements.
