Software Architect

Ignite is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented Software Architect to support projects in Dayton, OH, Huntsville, AL, and St. Louis, MO. The architect will collaborate with the lead architect to define, document, and implement software system architectures, aligning them with business and enterprise goals while guiding development teams throughout the lifecycle.

• Define, create, and update software system architectures and guide implementation with Software Engineers and Developers.
• Analyze architectural and engineering data to solve complex problems, recommend solutions, and improve products and processes.
• Identify and define system architectures that streamline internal development and operations, creating comprehensive functional and detailed design documents.
• Ensure the system is secure, resilient, observable, and capable of evolving with new customers and features.
• Drive long‑term modernization and technology direction.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and technical teammates to translate customer requirements into system requirements.
• Lead architecture definition and concepts within a system.
• Work closely with Solution Architects and System Engineering to align architectures with the value stream.
• Collaborate to define, scope, and refine architecture backlog items.
• Mentor, guide, and coach Software Engineers and Developers on system and solution architecture practices.
• Continuously learn and apply industry best practices on modern software delivery, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to achieve project and product objectives.

• 5+ years’ experience as a software architect and/or software engineer.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Knowledge of object‑oriented programming languages, including Golang, Java, C++, or Python.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Must have or be able to obtain Top Secret security clearance.

• Experience with system modeling and software architecting using MBSE.
• Experience with C4 modeling using Structurizr.
• Familiarity with Architecture Decision Records (ADR).
• Understanding of zero‑trust architectures and identity and access management systems.

Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and hold an active security clearance.
