Principal Software Systems Quality Engineer (Compliance) – Onsite, Huntsville, AL

Location:

Huntsville, AL, 315 Bob Heath Drive

Salary: $107,500 – $204,500 USD

• Perform classified and unclassified activities in secure labs and dedicated work spaces within Quality & Mission Assurance.
• Review Document Deliverables (CDRL), Command Media (Policies), SW Release Packages, SW Requirements Changes, SW System Defects, SW Pulls (Code Reviews), Media, and Test Artifacts.
• Participate in peer reviews (SW, SE), control boards (CCB, SRB), tracking books (metrics), test witnessing (SQT, FQT), and audits.
• Ensure digital products adhere to contractual requirements and review/approve inputs/outputs to/from partner organizations.
• Maintain integrity of technical data packages; identify, collect, and measure software quality attributes, metrics, and data.
• Perform independent evaluations and risk assessments, facilitating root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Leverage modern software development and quality practices, adopting Agile and Dev Sec Ops  methodologies.
• Collaborate with customers, product development, and test personnel; provide guidance to senior leadership, team members, and peers.

Must have:

• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance (Secret).
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Eight years of Quality or Technical experience applying principles across Agile, testing, requirements, software lifecycle, defect management, release management, metrics, and analysis.

Preferred:

• Experience with Agile/SCRUM, continuous integration/delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with testing execution witnessing, plans, procedures, and requirements traceability.
• Knowledge of software lifecycle processes, requirements decomposition, code reviews, and configuration management.
• Experience quantifying defects, setting severity, priority, and resolution effort.
• Familiarity with release management, checklists, versioning, and documentation.
• Skill in defining, developing, monitoring, and reporting metrics and dashboards.
• Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Certifications in Quality, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Agile, Cyber/IA, or Project Management.
• Proficiency with tools such as Confluence, Azure Dev Ops, Jenkins, Git Hub, Coverity, IDEs, modeling tools, databases, and network administration.
• Knowledge of standards such as AS9100, ISO
  9001, AS9115, and experience with QMS and SOPs.
