What We're Doing Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2
BMC) Regional Applications team, is constantly engineering, developing and integrating new capabilities for the U.S. Missile Defense System, protecting both the United States and its allies. The Work The C2
BMC-Regional Application (RA) Agile Release Train (ART) is seeking a software engineer that will thrive in a fast paced team environment in the design, development, and testing of the C2
BMC applications. Common responsibilities of a software engineer on the RA ART team include:
• Design and develop new Java applications;
Maintain existing Java applications
• Optimize existing legacy real-time Java applications
• Support software testing and resolution of issues from multiple baselines
• Works from system specifications to develop or modify operating systems applications
• Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation of programs
• Interface with other system support groups

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college in software / computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 6+ years of professional experience.
• Must currently hold an ACTIVE DoD Final Secret Security Clearance to be considered for this position.
• Demonstrated experience software development of Java-based applications in a UNIX/Linux platform environment.
• Demonstrated experience developing software in a structured, process-based integrated team environment.
• Demonstrated experience utilizing configuration management tools in the development of software (e.g. Git/Gitlab/etc.).
• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as System requirements, Use Cases, and SysML diagrams.
• The successful candidate will have good verbal and written communication skills, have the ability to work independently, and be able to work in a highly dynamic environment.
• Candidate will need to be able to work with multiple disciplinary teams including Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, Deployment and Warfighter Support to help ensure mission success.
• Security+ or equivalent certification may be required within 60 days of starting for some roles. Desired Skills Experience in the following:
• Missile Defense Domain experience
• Design and development of real-time Java applications.
• Developing multi-thread Java applications
• Developing new capabilities into a legacy software system.
• Optimizing Java applications for run-time performance.
• Development of complex mathematical algorithms from design documents.
• SW analysis against performance requirements.
• Resolving cyber/security issues identified by Fortify/Sonar Qube/etc.
• Maven or Gradle.
