Mid-Level Software Engineer

Torch Technologies Inc., is seeking a Mid-Level Software Engineer. In this position you will be part of a dynamic team that develops Software-in-the-Loop and Processor-in-the-Loop simulations to verify flight software for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures program. This position entails analyzing MDA and vendor requirements, verifying flight software performance compliance, and contributing to the integration of flight software into mission simulations.

Work will be performed in a lab at the Redstone Arsenal.

Job Responsibilities:

• Designs, develops and analyzes complex software programs for Software in the Loop and Hardware in the Loop simulation lab.
• Performs simulation and analysis.
• Collaborates with hardware design engineers on characteristics that affect software systems and works with them to resolve incompatibilities.
• As required, provides input for documentation of new or existing programs.

Job Requirements:

• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field or equivalent experience.
• 5 years applicable software design engineering experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, MATLAB, and Linux.
• Deep knowledge of containerized development workflows.
• Security+ certification
• Linux administration experience
• Kubernetes/Open Shift administration experience
• Knowledge of software debugging techniques.
• Ability to interpret software requirements and analyze compliance.
• Ability to publish reports and briefing presentations for communicating results of analysis. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Basic understanding of aerospace systems preferred.
• Position requires that candidate meets requirements to obtain a final security clearance to access classified information.
• Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position. Active clearance preferred.
