Hardware Loop Test Engineer

Leidos is seeking a Hardware in the Loop Test Engineer to support complex systems for national security and critical infrastructure clients. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain HIL test benches to validate embedded hardware and real-time software. Responsibilities include developing automated test scripts, integrating sensors and actuators, analyzing test data, and troubleshooting hardware/software issues. You will collaborate with systems, software, and FPGA engineers to refine requirements, improve reliability, and ensure rigorous verification.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test benches for embedded and real-time systems.
• Develop and automate test cases and scripts to validate hardware, firmware, and integrated system performance.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and I/O interfaces into HIL environments and resolve hardware/software integration issues.
• Analyze test results, document defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to drive resolution.
• Support requirements verification and traceability to ensure systems meet mission and customer needs.
• Contribute to test plans, procedures, and technical documentation following Leidos and customer standards.
• Work closely with systems, software, and FPGA engineers to refine designs for testability and reliability.
• Continuously improve HIL infrastructure, tooling, and processes to increase coverage and automation.
