Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are pleased to announce an opening for a Software Engineer who will join our team in Huntsville, AL to develop APEX
, a web-based software platform supporting the MDA Threat Systems Engineering (TSE) team. APEX will provide analysts and engineers with a modern interface for discovering, requesting, accessing, visualizing, and interacting with threat data products used throughout the missile defense community.

Responsibilities:

Our team is developing APEX as a web-based portal and data ecosystem for the threat products generated and maintained by TSE. The platform will provide users with a centralized location to discover threat data products, request creation of threat data products, and access existing threat data products.

This role includes building web-based interfaces and backends that store and interact with complex engineering threat data. Work will be performed as part of a multidisciplinary software and engineering team responsible for connecting the web application to the data, services, and workflows behind TSE’s threat products. We’re looking for developers who enjoy coding, solving technical problems, and working collaboratively to turn complex information into software that analysts and engineers can use effectively.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain features for the APEX web application.
  • Develop responsive web interfaces using Angular and Type Script.
  • Develop Python software supporting application services, data processing, and integration with TSE data products.
  • Create interactive views and visualizations that allow users to explore complex threat information.
  • Develop interfaces between APEX and the data products, databases, and services that support the TSE mission.
  • Support capabilities for discovering, requesting, retrieving, and interacting with threat data products.
  • Work directly with engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand how threat data is used and translate those needs into useful software capabilities.
  • Participate in collaborative software development, testing, code reviews, and configuration management.
  • Contribute to the continued evolution of APEX as new threat products, data sources, and user needs are identified.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • Relevant professional software development experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements where appropriate.
  • 2-5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • At least 1 year of professional experience developing web applications using Angular, Type Script, JavaScript, or a closely related modern front-end framework.
  • Experience developing software in Python.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and possess, or be able to obtain, a Secret clearance.
