Our team is currently seeking an Inventory Clerk based in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a 1st Shift position. 1st‑shift hours are typically Monday through Friday with Saturday overtime scheduled as needed.

The Inventory Control Clerk will maintain the organization’s inventory, perform cycle counting, physical inventories, receipt validation, audit functions, inventory transaction error tracing, and will maintain inventory records of transactions in the facility. This role will also be expected to assist in replenishment activities, order picking, order auditing, and other duties as assigned.

• Monitoring and controlling inventory practices to ensure accuracy.
• Routinely counting physical inventory and submitting accurate counts.
• Assist in determining root cause of inventory discrepancies.
• Performing data entry for inventory transactions.
• Conduct frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Education and/or

Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with computerized inventory systems required. Forklift operator certification preferred.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer

Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of AS‑400 or Oracle Inventory software.
