Material Handler
This direct-hire, second-shift Material Handler role focuses on operating sit-down forklifts to move materials efficiently between the warehouse and production lines. You support continuous production by transporting items, using RF scanners to track inventory, and working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities- Operate a sit-down forklift safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the facility.
- Pick up items from the warehouse and deliver them to the production line according to production needs.
- Retrieve finished or in-process products from the production line and transport them to designated warehouse locations.
- Use an RF scanner to track, scan, and update inventory movements accurately.
- Memorize warehouse locations, routes, and staging areas to improve speed and accuracy of material handling.
- Perform order picking, sorting, and material handling tasks to support production schedules.
- Unload materials and products as needed and ensure they are placed in correct storage locations.
- Work both indoors and outdoors, moving product in all weather conditions, including rain.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating forklifts and handling materials.
- Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to the line.
- Proven experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
- Hands-on experience with material handling, including picking, sorting, and unloading products.
- Ability to use an RF scanner for inventory tracking and order picking.
- Strong understanding of inventory flow between warehouse and production lines.
- Capacity to memorize and navigate warehouse locations and routes efficiently.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors as well as indoors in varying weather conditions.
- Commitment to following safety procedures while operating forklifts and handling materials.
- Availability to work second shift from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience supporting production environments through timely material delivery.
- Background in general labor tasks within a warehouse or manufacturing setting.
- Comfort with transitioning to new equipment, including electric forklifts as the facility upgrades.
- Ability to communicate clearly with production and warehouse staff to coordinate material flow.
- Strong attention to detail when scanning, sorting, and placing materials.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a production and warehouse setting with a consistent second shift schedule from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. You primarily operate a sit-down forklift and will work in areas that include indoor warehouse space, production lines, and outdoor yards where materials are stored or moved, in all weather conditions. The facility is transitioning to electric forklifts, so you will work with both current and upgraded equipment.
The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with regular interaction between warehouse and production teams.
This is a Permanent position based out of Huntsville, AL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41000.00 - $43000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
