The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and inventory operations supporting a higher education campus account. This role ensures the efficient receipt, storage, distribution, and control of materials, supplies, equipment, furniture, and maintenance-related inventory required to support campus operations. The Warehouse Manager leads warehouse staff, maintains inventory accuracy, coordinates deliveries across campus departments, and ensures compliance with safety, operational, and customer service standards.
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and logistics management skills while fostering collaborative relationships with campus stakeholders, vendors, and internal operational teams.
Job Responsibilities Inventory Control & Asset Management- Maintain accurate inventory records utilizing inventory management systems and reporting tools.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and annual physical inventories.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Manage campus inventory assets including maintenance supplies, custodial products, office furnishings, equipment, and specialty materials.
- Coordinate obsolete inventory disposition and surplus property management processes.
- Partner with Facilities, Maintenance, Custodial, Dining, Residence Life, Athletics, and Administrative departments to support operational needs.
- Coordinate delivery schedules and logistics for campus projects, events, relocations, and renovations.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of departmental requests and work orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strong working relationships with campus stakeholders.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate warehouse personnel.
- Promote employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
- Establish productivity standards and monitor team performance.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment focused on safety and operational excellence.
- Coordinate with purchasing teams and suppliers to ensure timely receipt of goods and materials.
- Review purchase orders, receiving documentation, and inventory records for accuracy.
- Assist in evaluating vendor performance and resolving delivery or supply chain issues.
- Support budget management through inventory monitoring and cost-control initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and campus safety policies.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of materials, chemicals, and equipment.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and facilitate corrective actions.
- Lead warehouse safety training and promote a culture of workplace safety.
- Maintain compliance with all company, university, and regulatory requirements.
- 3+ years of warehouse, inventory, logistics, or distribution management experience.
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Experience utilizing inventory management and warehouse management systems.
- Strong knowledge of inventory control practices and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
