Nature & Purpose of PositionWelcome Desk Ambassadors promote the services, programs, and initiatives of the Academic Success Center and Office of the First-Year Experience. Ambassadors support and empower all students to succeed academically and encourage the development of first‑year students in their high school to college transition.
Responsibilities- Greet each guest and offer assistance as needed
- Provide information on services, programs at university‑wide functions, and outreach events
- Answer incoming calls
- Recommend and connect students to appropriate services
- Contribute to the planning and execution of department events
- Aid students with appointment check‑ins
- Communicate effectively with office and other student staff
- Check‑in/check‑out laptops
- Collaborate with other departments to meet student needs
- Promote ASC services and programs at outreach events
- Contribute to marketing ideas to build our brand via social media platforms
- Create and maintain a semester schedule that correlates to the ambassador job requirements
- Provide administrative support tasks such as maintaining the office, assisting office staff, maintaining departmental records, light data entry, running on‑campus errands, drafting flyers in Canva, and other administrative tasks as needed
Marketing experience not required, but preferred.
