The Department of Political Science seeks qualified instructors to teach courses in our online Master’s in Public Administration (MPA) program. Candidates who can teach “Special Topics” courses that fit into the program’s two concentrations in Public Management and Emergency Management are preferred. Depending on student demand and instructor qualifications, there may be opportunities to teach upper‑division undergraduate courses.
Educational Requirements- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in political science, public administration, public affairs, or a related field; or
- Master’s degree in public administration with significant professional experience; or
- ABD in a relevant Ph.D. program
Teaching experience, especially in online teaching, is preferred but not required.
Other RequirementsPosition is security‑sensitive; candidates must be eligible for a background check under Texas Education Code §51.215.
