Position Title: Title I Preschool Teacher

Starting Date: Immediately

Position Type: Full-time

Reports To: Principal

Terms of Employment: Teacher's work calendar and benefits as provided in the Negotiated Teacher's Agreement.

Job Goal: To provide an early childhood educational program designed for educationally deprived four-year-old children whose educational attainment is below the level appropriate for children of their age.

• Must hold PK-3 or Early Childhood Special Education (CSE) certificate.
• Reading certification or Project Construct training preferred.
• Knowledge of English Language Learner (ELL) preferred.

• Implement developmentally appropriate activities and strategies which support early literacy and math.
• Implement developmentally appropriate activities and strategies which promote the social and emotional skills necessary for successful transition to Kindergarten.
• Provide an environment of acceptance that supports and respects each child’s gender, culture, language and ethnicity.
• Provide opportunity for parents to become involved in their child’s growth and development through parent education and participation.
• Make home visits to support emergent literacy and numeracy development through the demonstration of activities to support the developmental level of each child.
• Maintain accurate and current student records.
• Develop annual budget for materials and supplies.
• Supervise teacher assistants.

• Collaborate with the District Office administration and site administrator to review and implement program improvements.
• Attend meetings as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.
