Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
The Lecturer-Pool Faculty will teach undergraduate or graduate courses within one or more of the Department of Kinesiology degree programs, dependent upon an applicant’s academic background, experience, and licensure. Pool faculty contracts are for one semester based on departmental needs but may be renewed based on performance and need. Departmental need is driven by student enrollment and internal workload commitments.

Educational Requirements for the Position
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Sport Management or a related field for lower-level course offerings. Doctoral degree preferred from an accredited institution in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Sport Management or a related field for graduate course offerings. Candidates must have their degree completed by their contract start date.
Experience Required for the Position
Professional experience and/or certifications in the specific area is preferred.
Other Requirements for the Position
Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience is preferred. Travel to SHSU Campuses in Huntsville, TX, Conroe, TX, and/or The Woodlands, TX are required for some positions, typically 2-3 days/week. Experience in online teaching and online training and certificates required for those who will teach online courses. Certifications ( ATC ) and Licensure ( LAT ) are required for those teaching in the MSAT program.
