The Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Science and Engineering Technology at Sam Houston State University seeks abroadly trained biologist to support our Forensic Biology program for a tenure track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. Teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, courses in Forensic Biology, General Biology, in addition to upper-level undergraduate, as well as graduate, coursesin the candidate’s specific area of expertise.

The successful candidate will have earned a B.S. and a Doctoral degree in Life Sciences or a closely related field (Forensic Sciences, Physical Anthropology, Molecular Biology). Postdoctoralresearch experience is preferred but not required.

Candidates should have research experience beyond graduate study,preferably including one or more years of post-doctoralresearch.

Area of research is open, but those with interests in Forensic Biology, Forensic Genetics, or Biological Anthropology are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be required todevelop an externally funded research program involving undergraduates and masters-level graduate students in addition to conducting collaborative research within the Department of Biological Sciences.
