Preferred Student Classification Nature & Purpose of Position
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the identification of safety data sheets for laboratory chemicals.
* Assist in weekly inspections of waste storage areas to ensure integrity of waste containers.
* Assist in the preparation of universal waste for pickup by waste vendor.
* Assist in the testing of emergency showers and eyewashes.
* Prepare training rosters and training materials when necessary.
* Conduct monthly automated external defibrillators (AEDs) inspections.
* Conduct monthly fire extinguisher inspections.
* Conduct research regarding environmental, occupational, and research guidelines and regulations.
* Distribute new waste containers.
* Additional duties as assigned.
Other Requirements for the Position
* Valid driver's license.
* Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
