Responsibilities- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES. Provides technical support and maintains audio/video devices and peripherals. Assists with installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all classroom hardware while ensuring optimal system performance.
- With supervision, installs, configures, tests, maintains, and troubleshoots minor level 1 audio/video hardware and software.
- Responds to service requests regarding hardware and software issues.
- Maintains an accurate record of all requests for assistance.
- Provides prompt and accurate information for requests of assistance while maintaining confidentiality.
- Properly routes requests that need further escalation or attention from full time employees and/or supervisor.
- Provides guidance and assistance to co-workers
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to work between 15-28 hours per week and will ideally be available Monday – Friday within the hours of 7 am – 10 pm.
- Several hours of on-the-job training will be required due to the extensiveness of Academic Research & Technologies’ support offerings; therefore, a learning curve is expected.

- Able to carry loads up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders between 6-10ft.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred but not required
Must be a current SHSU student enrolled in six (6) semester hours with a minimum SHSU GPA of 2.5. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer competencies and knowledge. Direct IT job experience, SHSU Lab Assistant experience, or customer service experience preferred. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities would also be acceptable.
