Provides design, development, testing, maintenance, and oversight of departmental websites/intranet sites and other similar web-based media to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Primary Responsibilities- Works with staff to identify, deliver, develop, test, and maintain web pages and other media for the Institute for Homeland Security (IHS).
- Performs cross browser development and testing.
- Documents processes.
- Receives and responds to incoming communications regarding web and other media needs by IHS.
- Ensures Americans with Disability Act (ADA) compatibility for websites and related media.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Working technical knowledge of web design/development is necessary.
- Ability to learn new technology quickly from written, verbal, or visual instructional materials.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and procedural documentation.
- Effective interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills and a strong customer-service orientation are required.
- Ability to set priorities and procedures for accomplishing work based on previous experience and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Work is of moderate technical complexity and issues are resolved based on knowledge from experience and/or college level courses.
- Policy interpretation is limited to situations which have been previously defined and where parameters have been established.
- Special procedures sometimes require extended hours.
- Some travel is required.
- Part Time, Temporary, hourly, non-benefits eligible, working 19 hours or less per week, expected to end on or before 08/31/2026. Specific hours and workdays to be determined.
