General RequirementsBachelor's degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Journalism, Public Relations/Advertising, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. Six years professional experience in writing, marketing, social media, public relations, or experience in a related field. Experience in an academic environment preferable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual DutiesPerforms advanced managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the Office of the Dean – College of Business Administration department.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only)- Oversees and manages college-wide branding and marketing efforts.
- Oversees the creation and execution of digital, print, and social media, and other marketing materials for the College of Business Administration (COBA).
- Manages the college recruiting strategy including events, strategic initiative, planning, and data collection for recruitment and retention efforts.
- Serves as Integrated Marketing & Communications (IMC) liaison for the college, interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Plans, writes, edits, and reviews content for publications, news releases, advertisements, web pages, videos, and social media posts for the College of Business Administration.
- Oversees and manages activities, programs, publications, awards, and general matters of interest.
- Researches and conducts interviews to produce targeted news reports for both internal and external audiences as well as expanded features on research, teaching, operations, and student activities for various publication outlets.
- Creates and implements strategy pertaining to marketing and recruiting initiatives for college events and services to students, alumni, employers, faculty, and staff.
- Plans, executes, and directs marketing recruiting and student events in the college.
- Provides supervision to student workers.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
