Part‑time Position

This is a part‑time position, up to 29 hours per week, starting rate: $14.00 per hour***

Summary / Primary Purpose

Assist clients to our food pantry with the intake process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors/clients in a friendly manner.
  • Answer phone and direct calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Secure the necessary client information.
  • Ensure pantry shelves are stocked.
  • Attend meetings as required.
  • Be responsible for sorting and stocking personal care items.
  • Maintain all inventory for TEFAP.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

Qualifications
  • Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web‑based system.
  • Administrative skills including use of standard office equipment, data entry, 10‑key, attention to detail and filing.
  • Good communication skills (both written and spoken) and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.
Other Qualifications
  • Must pass all applicable background checks.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside.
  • Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
  • Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to sit for the majority of the time.
  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
  • May need to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to talk or hear.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions

Ability to work with moderate noise in a business office and occasional outdoor tasks in a variety of weather conditions.
