RJS Construction is a woman/Native American/family‑owned construction company which provides construction services to all government agencies. RJS has multiple projects throughout Oregon, Washington, South Dakota, Colorado, Utah, and Idaho. Candidates must be able to travel and have a minimum of 5 years commercial construction experience. They must be able to completely understand and construct new buildings from the ground up through completion.
Federal construction experience is helpful.
The superintendent will fully understand all aspects of construction activities, be able to lift 50 pounds, stand, walk and inspect the jobsite as needed, and be safety‑oriented. They must organize and conduct safety meetings and communicate with all team members, including the owner/owner’s representative, architects, engineers, and inspectors. They will hold weekly progress meetings, follow a master schedule, and mirror progress with a three‑week look‑ahead schedule.
RJS includes 2 weeks paid vacation per year, 40 hours sick pay, and a health and dental insurance plan. As a superintendent, mileage will be reimbursed in your personal vehicle at the current government rate; alternatively, an RJS vehicle will be assigned if available.
Job Requirements• 5 years of commercial construction experience, including new construction and remodel of existing buildings.
• Journeyman carpenter skills.
• Physically fit to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for long durations.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to access government sites.
• Must pass a government background check.
• Experience in new and remodel construction projects.
• Safety‑minded, self‑starter, able to supervise multiple tasks.
