Position: Sr Electrical Engineer - 28605

Expectations

Front Line support of Process Control Systems and infrastructure
- Automation Support
  - Accountable for providing process control engineering and data acquisition support for McCook Mfr and R&D pilot plant operations (as directed)
  - Honeywell Systems
  - GE Fanuc Systems
  - Standalone systems (want to get these to PI)
  - Maintain & support McCook PLC and Plantscape issues including refresh and replacement (and rebuild) of workstation PCs.
  - Develop program changes for process change requests to PLC, Plant Scape, PI, and autocad drawings.
  - File maintenance of Boiler PLC(s) I/O fault tables and Genius distributed I/O.
  - Daily (informal) meetings with McCook plant personnel; discussing status, question & answer sessions, PI and PIML issues, etc.
  - Investigate hardware and software requirements to upgrade control systems for McCook Plants 24, 25 and 23 / 26.
  - Develop/Implement estimates for engineering updates.
- Data Acquisition Support
  - Maintain and Troubleshoot McCook PI network including application nodes and server including connectivity.
  - Maintain PI Interface Configuration Utilities and Trusts.
  - Maintain PI Tag configuration and Process Book applications.
  - PI Manual Logger (Old and New)
  - Maintain McCook Honeywell Recorder process programs.
  - Data Historians at Mc Cook
    - OSI’s PI Historian is currently McCook’s Historian
    - Honeywell’s PHD is expected.
    - Manual/Stand Alone Recorders
- Process Control Network Support
  - Infrastructure support like Network Switches
  - Operating System patches and Antivirus updates
  - Maintain backups on McCook PCN (Plant Scape and Cimplicity).
- Auxiliary Systems Support
  - Develop and maintain McCook auto dialer programs.
  - General Instrumentation and Automation Support
- PIMS
- Work with established procedures and protocols
  - e-MOC for McCook Management of Change

Expected Skills

Process Loop, Control System and Data Path Troubleshooting
- Able to troubleshoot Legacy GE Control System hardware and software
- Able to troubleshoot Legacy Honeywell Control System hardware and software (once instructed)
- Able to solve instrumentation / operational / process interaction problems
- Able to troubleshoot data path issues and resolve why process data is not being viewed.
Control and Operating System Knowledge
- Familiar with most common operating systems and control systems
- Loads software on work station computers and servers
- Able to maintain SCADA and Web servers
Process Control System, Design and Configuration
- Understands routine control system configuration and able to do basic programming. (Minimum).
- Demonstrates knowledge of control system hardware and platform, specifically GE (Genius IO, Cimplicity)
- Understands wiring diagrams, basic wiring concepts and basic instrumentation and can include establishing new wiring diagram standards and recommends new wiring & interface methodologies
- Demonstrates skill in managing automation design, equipment specifications and installation
Process Control Network Maintenance (May take off table)
- Maintain McCook PCN network, keep current anti-virus software in conjunction with Scott Francy.
- Maintains network topology to support the Control System infrastructure
- Front line support of McCook Firewall
- Maintains users and hardware naming conventions.
- Maintains TCP/IP address management
- Maintains security profiles for clients and servers
- Rebuild PCN Clients and servers as directed

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree and 6-8 years of experience
