Salary Range: $37.50 - $62.00
Department Details: Internal Traveler will be utilized in multiple sites (SD, ND, NE, CO, IA, and MN) and settings with flexibility in scheduled hours. You will accrue PTO, holiday pay, and receive a weekly stipend. All buildings are on the same EMR and Good Sam sites. This position offers an opportunity to explore local places in the Midwest and meet our supportive staff.
Job Summary- Plans, organizes, and delivers physical therapy programs that help clients/patients/residents recover and improve their mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and prevent deformities.
- Conducts examinations, evaluations, and interventions for clients/patients/residents affected by injury or disease.
- Utilizes tools and techniques to administer physical therapy interventions following safeguards.
- Documents client/patient/resident information for evaluation; establishes therapeutic plans and modifies them if necessary.
- Educates clients/patients/residents and their family members about treatment plans/schedules and self-exercises to be continued at home.
- Applies appropriate age-related treatments and evaluations related to the needs of clients/patients/residents.
- Incorporates current research into daily treatment of clients/patients/residents.
- May treat individuals of all ages with varying diagnoses and disorders.
- Demonstrates documentation in accordance with departmental guidelines and meets all regulatory requirements.
- Follows accepted clinical practice guidelines of professional organizations.
- Exhibits flexibility with variable work schedules/assignments.
- Participates in activities to promote the department, Good Samaritan Society, and Sanford Health.
- Interacts with providers, case managers, third‑party payers, public organizations, companies/contractual partners, etc.
- May supervise assistants, aides, and students as they provide care, treatment, or other services.
- Provides ongoing education and training to peers in areas of expertise as determined by department leadership.
- Performs other related duties as requested by manager.
- May focus on intervention in post‑acute, long‑term care, and home‑health environments based on facility needs and assigned locations.
- Appropriate education level required in accordance with state licensure.
- Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as a Physical Therapist.
- When applicable, may require a valid driver's license.
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
