Pharmacy Support Worker Higher Level - Pharmacy Services

We are recruiting enthusiastic Pharmacy Support Workers to join our pharmacy teams at two major specialist centres in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde.

• Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre:
  Support aseptic services for systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT) and other injectable medicines, working in a highly controlled environment to maintain patient safety and service efficiency.

This role is integral to multidisciplinary teams delivering high‑quality care across, outpatient and day‑case settings.

PVG Scheme membership (Disclosure Scotland) is required for roles involving regulated work with vulnerable groups.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis following interview and during the pre‑employment verification process. Skilled Worker visa and Health and Care Worker visa

• Location based in Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre and Royal Hospital for Children
• The shift pattern are Monday to Friday
• Full‑time position (36 hours per week)
• Permanent Contract

• Assemble trays and prepare items for aseptic production following SOPs.
• Perform accuracy checks (CEL 30 authorised tasks) on assembled items.
• Support environmental monitoring and stock control.
• Undertake routine cleaning and maintenance in controlled areas.
• Liaise with pharmacy technicians and pharmacists to ensure timely supply

• SVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Good communication and team‑working skills.
• Basic IT skills for stock and documentation tasks.

• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and medicines handling.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part‑time working hours will be reduced on a pro‑rating basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
