About

The Role

The Data Analyst at Stio® plays a vital role within the Data & Analytics team, working closely with the Director of Data & Analytics to expand the company's data-driven decision-making capabilities. This is a full-stack, horizontal position that encompasses data infrastructure, modeling, transformation, analysis, and business intelligence development. The analyst will collaborate with stakeholders across various departments such as Finance, Merchandising, Marketing, Operations, Inventory Planning, and B2B to identify high-impact problems and develop actionable insights.

The role involves working with a modern data stack built around Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Power BI, Git Hub, and Python, with AI-assisted development tools integrated into daily workflows. As an early team member, you will have the opportunity to influence how the analytics function evolves, ensuring data integrity, clarity, and strategic value. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data analysis, a curiosity for emerging AI tools, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support business growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics engineer, or similar role
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including CTEs, window functions, and wrangling complex datasets
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including writing models, tests, and documentation
  • Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift, or similar
  • Proficiency with version control tools, particularly Git and Git Hub
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
  • Strong understanding of AI-assisted development for analytics, including best practices and limitations
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings verbally, visually, and in writing
Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate ambiguous questions into clear analyses, dashboards, and data products
  • Own the development and maintenance of dbt models, ensuring data quality, documentation, and testing
  • Create and manage dashboards and reports that support daily business operations
  • Define and maintain consistent metric definitions and business semantics, facilitating stakeholder alignment
  • Review and validate AI-generated SQL, dbt models, and Python code to ensure semantic accuracy and reliability
  • Investigate complex data questions by engaging with source-system owners, reconciling conflicting data, and refining data models
  • Contribute to the evolution of Stio’s data infrastructure, including Snowflake, Fivetran, dbt, Git Hub, Power BI, Python, and R
  • Enhance data governance by creating comprehensive documentation and ensuring data trustworthiness
  • Continuously develop technical skills and stay current with evolving analytics practices and AI tools
