Senior Claims Specialist

Senior Claims Specialist – investigate and adjust workers' compensation claims with high potential exposure, working primarily from home with occasional travel within the Pacific Region, and Pacific Time Zone business hours.

This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship.

• Investigate losses
• Analyze coverage, determine compensability and benefits
• Establish reserves and negotiate settlements
• Conduct meetings on the phone with insureds and claimants
• Prepare large loss reports for internal and external audiences
• Attend settlement conferences as assigned
• Work closely with defense attorneys and other vendors, including medical case management, surveillance, etc.

• Sedentary – requires prolonged sitting, continuous use of computer
• Occasional travel – may require overnight travel to tri‑annual claim reviews and/or departmental meetings

• 10+ years of experience, or at least 7+ years of proven success in California workers' compensation claims adjusting with higher exposure claims
• Current California workers' compensation adjustment license
• Ability to work Pacific Time Zone business hours
• Industry designation such as Associate in Claims is strongly considered
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with a variety of internal and external contacts
